Sometimes familiarity far throws fear.

It was impolite for Emily Post to stated that there should be no color around high tea. For a pinch of reality, she should have lived on an island. Mannerism or politeness ceases to exist in solitude.

Learn to be still..

I like using Flash as a medium of illustration, as I can save preliminary sketches without losing the flow. As one sketches out, hit the symbolizer (F8) and that saves a copy of the art work in the library. Break down the symbol on the stage and continue editing.

Playing with words

My friend and 3d Rigger Extraordinaire Vijay Sarathi and myself were pitching ideas across when we hit upon a funny one called "Quick Gun Poly Gun". A wild wild Polygonal character who was a clumsy draw but got his point through. While developing the character as we were discussing this other character popped up.

This is just a satire...

Started work on a project called "Arab in America". Directed by Nabil Abou-Harb, a SCAD film student, this film is a satire on all the stereotypes and fears circulating in America right now. (Want to know more?)
One of the scenes required a though bubble for a paranoid cop. Here are the elements that go in there.

Something from the comments....

My Friend Krishna, is a talented Digital Comic Artist and his works and style is very inspiring. But most of all his passion and never-say-die attitude is shown all over his online tech-comic PC Weenies (since late 1998!) Crossing one of his posts from the Sketchbook Diary's Step-by-Step Toon Creation process, here is my part of the fun.

Hopefully the Last Caricature for the year

Srikanth Kapali

I have got a lot of requests this year to draw caricature and has that been fun or what?! I'm glad people are really amused with the style. Realising that I am still not really good at drawing caricatures of the opposite sex. I'm gonna make it a point to work on that a lot more on that the coming month.

Doodle

Was just thinking of a Coke Ad that was playing back in Bangalore (India) two year ago. The Slogan was "Paanch" meaning 5. A 250ml bottle of Coke was/is (?) sold @ Rs. 5 ($0.1). God, thats really really cheap! The Ad starred Amir Khan and multi-Character role of being a Thug, and impressing the ladies.

Cue Card: Readability.

I was assigned to design Icons for an online course for SCAD e-Learning. The Icons had to be universally recognizable and it had to have some Typographic Reference. Given a certain color pallet, made a four color variations for each of them. The initial concepts also dealt with varied classical style and a pajama patter for the letters, but the limiting factor was it had to look very cleaned up and yet work within the small frame size of 75x75 pixels thus
