These were three comics I had made for close friends, sometime late last year.
The humor is very colloquial. The character development posts can be read here and here.

Lateral Collateral on the App store!

Been a super good day for all American Football fans! Two of my games have been published. Lateral Collateral, a big favorite on the NFLRZ has now been ported to the Iphone. Now you can spend endless hours on that international flight lateraling the ball and getting your butt kicked by your opponents. Fast and fun game. (Click here to go to the Apple App store)

The other game which I have made that has been green-lit is "Sprint Attack". It's a take on Super Sprint, with football players pushing opponents off the tracks, picking up bonuses and dodging Big Red Blitz Bots. Its a well made game, have fun playing it here at the NFLRZ

Character Turnarounds!

Decided to just stick to the 3/4th of the character for simplicity. If the strip required specific poses, I shall scratch them out on a napkin and throw it in the bin, cause I dont want to be so anal in my approach for this personal project.

Three Diggas and a Mallu walk into a bar..

I had always wanted to do this comic strip for my good ol' friends Jakie, Ronny, Ashwin and the rest from Bangalore. Over the week I salvaged some old photos and sketched out caricatures as a start for the comic strip tentatively named "Three Diggas and a Mallu walk into a Bar". (It was an old joke that we always played on Ashwin, a true-blue Kannadiga boy, rather the only Digga in the gang).
The strip contains a lot of inside jokes, so I'm contemplating about posting them here on the blog as the humor is very colloquial and would not make too much sense to anyone who weren't with us for the last fifteen years.

The blams of time

I decided to work on some art to help move the cog wheels of Clock Day.

Clock day is celebrated every 15th of August (since 2001) on newgrounds.com. It started when a user named StrawberryClock had turned in his flash submission which just contained the letter 'B'. This submission, as much as it was blammed, withstood the blams of time and has churned out an internet subcultre. From these bytes of silliness grew the phenomenon of the Clock Crew and their creativeness.

According to history books, before StrawberryClock submitted 'B', he had turned in 'A' which was blammed to the peak of oblivion. Thus my project is based on that submission by StrawberyClock.

It's a short animation and personifies the letter 'A' and A's bleak, short lived future it faced by the forces that binds newgrounds.

Below are some of the preproduction works that went into this project. Enjoy!

I started off by first getting a good feel for the character and penciled out some basic shapes to simplify the figure.

On nailing down the final design, I decided to go straightahead and not do the turn arounds, something that I essentially do on all projects.

After thumbnailing the concept storyboard, dove right into to creating a tight animatic with Jedadiah's: Pardon(theme) from the audio portal. Songs that didn't make it into the list or were dropped last minute were the following, A salute to these talented audio slaves.

CJ's : Ghost of the Past
DanPaladin's: Pear
Zeke30695's: Lilium (Music Box)
Jedadiah's: Reprise and Finale

The Clock Crew in the mean time have finalized on this years preloader, which I have modified to fit my animation.

Thus getting to the end of this post, I had fun working on this project. The total time it took me from scrip to screen was approximately 12 hours, broken over a few nights. Getting technical, this animation made in Flash CS3 (bloody thing crashed a lot of times), the background texture is from CGTextures.com which is a collective maintained by Marcel Vijfwinkel, also used Photoshop for editing and optimizing the final image. Audacity was the weapon of choice for sound editing.

I'm submitting the finished animation this Saturday to newgrounds.com and by next week, it goes up on thedevilsgarage.com too. So for now, I shall leave you with two stills from the animation.

Shoutout to Sean 'Chains' Mckenzie who helped me out with that strange language called actionscript.

Update: Death of 'A', has been featured on newgrounds homepage! Had got 15,000 hits in the first 24hours, most excellent!

Rejected NFL Game Characters

This is one of the many characters that really didn't pass my selection process while developing casual games for the NFL. Appropriately termed, Octo-wuss is a bad guy who flys around in a small capsule space craft, blasting the hell out of the creatures below. Though it looks like anything but a wuss, it has been sent to the reject bin. Da-da-daaaaa.
